Cherry Blossom Festival In March, we traveled to Georgia to visit Steve's sister and brother-in-law. It was Cherry Blossom Festival time and we had a lot of fun. Here is Beth with Lizzie, hanging out on Beth and Andy's awesome front porch. |
Sidewalk Chalk The first thing we did at the festival was to get Maury a square for the Sidewalk Chalk Art contest. He went to town drawing and writing in his spot. |
Balloon Fight Then, before the bed race started, we stood in line so the kids could get a balloon animal. Turns out, the kids in front of them had started the balloon sword trend, so that is what they wanted. Naturally, Lizzie had to have pink and a sword fight insued immediately. |
"I Love You, Mommy!" After a not-so-successful naptime, we headed out to the airfield for a hot air balloon show. Maury hopped into a police car (with his Care Bear) and proceeded to exclaim on over the intercom, "I Love You, Mommy!" I was very proud. |
Two Maurys We were sitting out having our picnic dinner when we realized that we weren't the only ones yelling at a Maury to come back to where he was supposed to be. This little guy is a Maury, too. He and his sister hung out at our blanket most of the time before they left. |
Mini Balloon Show It was so windy at the airfield that day that not many hot air balloons made it up. We waited it out and saw a few and then we headed back home. The kids fell asleep on the way back to Beth's around 6 p.m. They slept through until 7 a.m. the next morning! Unheard of! Love what fresh air does to kids...big sleep! |
Laughs A Lot Bear So, here is a close up of Maury with his favorite thing: his Care Bear. Just kidding, Nana. But, honestly, the boy never had a favorite stuffed animal until this one. At the age of 4, he started taking a Care Bear with him to school to sleep with at naptime. Strange. But, I like it because it means he hasn't gotten too old yet! |
