Cherry Blossom 2005

I've really let the site go and I'm going to try to catch up now pretty quickly with the high points of the year. The main thing we have done involved another great trip to Macon for the Cherry Blossom Festival in March. This is a picture of the kids from Easter Sunday, however. Aren't they adorable? Am I biased? Maybe.

MAKEUP!

Never leave a five year old alone in a room with markers. I thought this was never going to come off. He did such a great job, don't you think?

First Trip to the Dentist

Going back even further, here's Lizzie in January at her first dentist's appointment. She was really really good after we convinced her that that buzzing thing was a toothbrush. Thank goodness for the TV's in the rooms. Here she is almost at the end while the dentist checks her little teeth.

Big Fun

OK, now we're at the Cherry Blossom Festival. This year, the main thing we did was attend the Cherry Dazzle. This was a kid's dream. Carnival rides galore. Here is Lizzie having a complete blast on one of the many rides she tried out. She was so cute just smiling and waving on every single ride!

Maury and His Intended

Beth and her best friend, Robin, have arranged a marriage for Maury and Robin's cutie pie, Maggie. Here are Maury and his gal sharing a ride at Cherry Dazzle.

Everyone Slide

Did I say that Cherry Dazzle was a kid's dream come true? The adults had fun, too. Here are Andy, Beth and Steve with Maggie, Lizzie and Maury about to go down the big slide. And, it wasn't just the rides that the adults loved. Andy arrived pretty late in the afternoon but still managed to enjoy a handdipped corn dog, a burrito, and an ice cream. The man was loving it.

Wiped Out

After watching some of the Dixie Disc Dogs Championship, we were all ready to head home. Lizzie completely zonked out and Uncle Andy carried her back to the car.

Just Waiting

Back at the car, we found Maury enjoying a blow pop on top of the car just waiting for us all to return. He and Steve had left the dog competition and headed back into the main part of Cherry Dazzle. They tried to take a helicoptor ride! I was relieved to discover that they weren't able to do that. I'm a chicken, I admit it.

What a Comedienne!

On Sunday, we all went to church and then that afternoon we went to the parade. The kids had fun, but probably not really because of the parade as much as just goofing off with family. Look at how cracked up Nana has Lizzie here!

The Look

Let me just leave you today with this picture of Ms. 'Tude herself. This is the lovely look I got over and over from my precious princess while we were at (the other) Andy and Beth's for baby Gabe's baptism celebration. Lovely, huh? We have our hands full, ladies and gentlemen.
