Two Already

My baby isn't a baby anymore. On August 9th, we had a Hello Kitty birthday party for Lizzie. Here she is after the party with her new "car seat", Bedtime Cinderella, and purse. Please also note the shoes. You may think that I put those on her because I just love red. Not so. Lizzie picked them out and no one wanted to tell the birthday girl they didn't match.

Paci Substitute

Lizzie is very in love with her paci. But, she isn't really behind in giving it up in comparison to Maury. She is now down to bedtime and in the car. But, when she is nervous and doesn't have her paci, her hand goes right in her mouth. Here she is with her daddy...she's a little intimidated with all the kids running around her house.

Best Part of the Party

The party was at risk for going all day once the cake and ice cream were served because Lizzie LOVED eating them. And, she wanted to do it all by herself. And, she wasn't in any hurry to finish.

That's Why It Was So Quiet

One Sunday afternoon, it got really quiet in our house. Steve got up to find out what was going on and found Lizzie ON the dining room table. Can't blame her. There was a lot of stuff laying up there...surely there was something she would want up there. Why not just climb up and see? She is very adept at this. She often runs into the kitchen and you hear a chair slide across the floor and then she comes back with a "cucker" (sucker).

Such the Girl

When we visited Steve's family in south Alabama during the July 4th weekend, Steve and I went out without the kids to shop. We came back and Lizzie had her hair up in sponge rollers. She really enjoyed having it up and kept tossing her hair around while it was up to show them off. She then got real girly and started talking on the phone. One of us must get on the phone and laugh a lot because that is what she would do. She would babble something and then just laugh and laugh.

My Puppy, My Baby, My Blankie

Lizzie is predictable in the morning. She wakes up and calls for me. I go in to get her and she says, "My puppy", so I pick her puppy up. She says, "My baby", so I pick her baby up. She says, "My blankie", so I pick her blankie up. Then, I get to pick her up, find her paci if she has lost it, and take her into our room. Here she is in her "bag" (bean bag) with all of her attachment objects, although this is in the evening after her bath, not first thing in the morning.

Girls Are Different

Lizzie is starting to show an interest in potty training, so we will enter the pull ups world, at least for daycare, very soon. She has been pottying in the a.m. before I dress her and before her bath recently. Now, it hasn't been going on long, but now when I put her on the potty, she usually goes.

Dress Up

Check out the wonderful dress up outfit Lori sent to Lizzie. She was just too cute in this full fairy get up. She loves necklaces and bracelets. Maury loves magic wands. LOL!
