First Birthday

When Maury turned one, I made sure to snap a picture of him first thing that a.m. So, I did the same for Lizzie, except Maury had to get in on the act...even joining her in the crib!

The Princess' Cake

For Lizzie's birthday party, we had a tea party for The Princess of Quite-A-Lot. Instead of getting a full sized cake, I just got petit fours for the grown ups and a baby cake just for her.

Girly Gifts

Lizzie's birthday presents were so much more different than the ones Maury got for his first. She got lots of adorable clothes, complete with hats...

More Girly Gifts

....and hair bows. She also got three more Madame Alexander dolls to add to her collection, a personalized Christmas ornament celebrating her birthday, two pearls for her add a pearl necklace, and a precious silverplated tea set. And, let's not forget the college money!!

A Few Toys

Lizzie did get a few toys, including this one shown which makes the sweetest classical music sounds, a Leap Baby, a Roll Along Dino and a sweet baby doll.

Lizzie Bee

Steve's sister and I have both been calling Lizzie Lizzie Bee on and off. Appropriately enough, her baby swing is a bumble bee, too!

Cousins

After presents were opened, we all went outside for a little while and let the kids run around and play on the swingset. Here are the cousins: Lauren, Lizzie and Maury.

Poster Child

Oh, and then the madness began! Here is our sweet little girl who was once clean and neat in her throne all messy with icing EVERYWHERE. This particular picture is being blown up for the Ritz camera shop where I got them developed into a POSTER. They want to hang it on their wall! I tell you that made my day when they asked me that! Personally, I think this picture (click here) is more "Lizzie" than the one they are blowing up, but WOW! does the icing all over make for a cute picture!

Big Grin

I just love this picture of Lizzie from her birthday morning. This grin is totally how she is most of the time. Now, her sad side is just as extreme, but this happy side so makes up for that!

More Cake

If you thought Lizzie enjoyed her cake by looking at the pictures above, check this out. I got a piece of cake after most everyone had left and she crawled over and started, well, begging for more.

Elmo Rides Again

Maury loved this Elmo mower when he was little, and now Lizzie is enjoying it, too. She is actually turning anything that moves into a walker. She could walk fine holding just one hand, but when she realizes she only has one hand, she sits right down. She does that very well, too. Eases right down from standing without a problem.
