Holidays 2002

Hard to believe the holidays have come and gone already. Things seemed to fly from the time Halloween had passed and when Christmas arrived. One of the things we did in between was celebrate Nana's birthday. Lizzie celebrated more than most, I guess you could say. The girl has an issue with icing, I believe.

The Better to See You With

We spent Thanksgiving with Steve's mother's family. Here is Lizzie with her Uncle Doug... wearing his glasses. We have some pictures of Maury in the same glasses that I love from when he was baptized. Nonetheless, this picture is even better. Doesn't she look like a little secretary?

Smooches

Before we left for home after Thanksgiving, we took some pictures out in GG's backyard. It was a gorgeous day. Here is Maury actually being sweet to his sister. I shouldn't say that that way. He is generally pretty good with her, just a little too rough.

Zoolight Safari

The Friday before Christmas, we finally made it to the zoo for Zoolight Safari. The new children's zoo has this great carousel and the four of us rode it that night.

The Polar Express

Papa and Nana started a new tradition this year for the kids: a ride on The Polar Express. We had a great time on the ride to the North Pole. After milk and cookies, Santa even came through the train car to see everyone. And, best of all, we each went home with a shiny silver sleigh bell!

Ta Da!

On Christmas Eve at Steve's parents' house, Lizzie waived her hands in front of the fireplace like she had caused Christmas to appear!

The Princess of Christmas

Of course, giving her a crown probably made her really feel like she was the center of it all (she was ;-) ). She was given some wonderful things, including the start of a Madeline collection.

Santa Came!

Christmas morning saw the arrival of a kitchen set for Lizzie and a shopping cart for Maury (as well as a ton of Rescue Heroes and a dress up trunk). Thank you, Lori and Nikki.

On the Road Again

After a little time at our own home, we headed out for Grandma and Grandpa's house. Lizzie took her Raggedy Ann with her in the car. Shucks, that was cute! We had a great visit there with my family and then were nestled all snug in our own beds late that night.
