Early Weeks You have to admit, newborns don't make for many real action pics, so until that happens, this page will change occasionally as I add pictures just so you can see how she is looking. This picture is Lizzie at about five days old. During the first week home, Lizzie lost weight down to about 7 pounds, 2 ounces (from her birth weight of 7 pounds, 15 ounces). By the end of the week, she was putting on weight at a good pace. (We know this because we were in and out of the pediatrician's office all week because she had jaundice.) |
Ten Days Now, here is Lizzie at about ten days old. The week this was taken was a whirlwind week with some visitors coming by the house every other day or so and Grandma visiting for an entire week. (My mom feels like she wasn't helpful to us that week, but I want her and the whole world to know right now that she WAS! I personally think she was a saint, putting up with her very hormonal daughter for that entire week.) |
One Month Ah, here she is at a month old. (I feel horrible, but I don't really have any good Lizzie pics between ten days and one month. It is true, I guess, about the second children being slighted in the picture department.) At this point, Lizzie weighed 9 pounds, 6 ounces. We have unfortunately had her weighed alot as we are dealing with formula and reflux issues with her...many trips to the pediatrician already in her young, young life. |
![]() Our Little Lizzie Lizzie is quite the sleeper...during the day, that is. She actually sleeps OK at night and for a decently long interval IF she is on someone's chest! I guess her reflux makes her prefer that to the flat bed or to the car seat which she spends a lot of time in during the day (not that we're driving around, it's just a good upright place to be). I already told you how much Lizzie's weighs at this age, but how about Mommy? I won't tell you how MUCH, but I will say that I am already down to just 5 pounds over my pre-pregnancy weight. (I needed to lose some weight then, but I'm thrilled that I'm this close already!) |
Trip to Church We actually ALL made it to church on September 16th. Maury spent the night with his Nana and Papa and we just had to get ourselves and Lizzie ready and we were STILL late. (Church is at 8:30, which is early, but you would think we could have made it on time with just one kid, wouldn't you?) Lizzie is all dolled up in a cute rosebud outfit and bonnet she got from her Aunt Nana (her Nana's twin sister, Tricia) and Uncle Jim, and a matching, handmade blanket from a wonderful family friend, Dean. |
Whose Mat Is This, Anyway? Here are Maury and Lizzie on the activity mat that is so wonderful for little ones to lay on. Maury got home from school one day and saw his old toy and HAD to lay on it with her. Lizzie is about five weeks old in this picture. |
Bathtime One thing I feel really guilty about is that I haven't photographed Lizzie like I did Maury. Her first real bath was given in a moment of need, not a Kodak moment, following one of her spit up incidents. Several other baths followed, some in need, some not, and none were photographed. FINALLY, when she was about 5 1/2 weeks old, we had her content in her bath and got some pictures taken. This picture is almost identical to one of Maury's first bath pictures. I will have to dig that out and put it online to show everyone someday! |
Five Weeks Here is our little princess at five weeks old enjoying the swing that our good neighbors, Martha and Joseph, were kind enough to let us borrow. It isn't really something she LOVES just yet, but sometimes it seems to soothe her a little bit. I am sure she will really like it in a few weeks! |
Daddy's Birthday Steve's birthday was on September 17th. Here he is with both the kids crowded onto his lap while he reads to Maury. Maury is not jealous of Lizzie in the typical way. Instead of being upset when someone holds her because HE wants to be held, he is upset because he wants to hold HER. He holds his little hands out and says, "Hold her?". It is too adorable! |
Smile! NOW we have some smiles! These pictures were taken on September 25th, with Nana's help. I think some of the biggest smiles are still gas sometimes, but these sure weren't! |
Seven Weeks Can you believe it? A seven week old couch potato! Here is our littlest one relaxing on the sofa! |
Eight Weeks At eight weeks old, Daddy is really able to get a grin out of his little girl. Here, she is probably also laughing to herself because she KNOWS that Muffin Maury is in no way going to share that plate full of muffins with his Daddy! |
