This is the big one! On April 10th, we found out that the Peanut is a GIRL! A big girl, in fact. Her measurements were all just slightly above 50% except her belly which is a whopping 85%! She is moving around a lot...more than Maury ever was in an ultrasound. We saw her rub her eyes and yawn even! She really loves her hands...I think we could count her fingers on the ultrasound. And, her legs look sooooo long to me! In four weeks, I will get another quick ultrasound to make sure she still looks like a she, but everyone in the room was pretty sure of it today!

A Girly Nursery

Even though I said I was going to wait until the May 7th ultrasound to be sure the baby is a girl to buy any pink things, I found a good deal on a crib set that I liked, so I snatched it up! It is pink and it has a bunny on it, so that is all I needed to be sold! Maury has a room full of tigers that will move on to his big boy room with him and the bunnies that I have collected over the years will move into the nursery.

Definitely a Girl

On May 7th, we got to see our baby girl again. She is still a girl (the whole excuse for seeing her again was to confirm her gender) and she is still big. Her measurements put her in the 78%, meaning her birth weight would be around 8 pounds 6 ounces. The thing that is funny to me is that Maury was 7 pounds 8 ounces at birth...three weeks early...and no one ever mentioned him being big at ultrasounds we had this early. If he had gone to term, he would have likely been 9 pounds or more. Big babies aren't a surprise to me...I weighed in at over 10 pounds when I was born. Oooof! I love you, Mom!

And a BIG Girl

On July 25th, after just not feeling "right" for a day or more, I went in to the doc to be sure everything was OK. Everything checked out, but the doctor agreed that it sounded like I was trying to go into labor. I had another ultrasound done and the baby's head measured 42 weeks on one measurement(!) and then 38 when she tried again. All in all, the ultrasound tech said that she looks to be about 7 pounds 11 ounces already! (This could be plus or minus a pound.) She also said that she has a head full of hair (explains all that heartburn). Look at her sweet face and she has her hands clasped below her chin. We are anxious to meet you, baby girl, but stay put at least one more week, please!

The Girlification Continues

I have been calling the pinking up of the nursery "The Girlification". Here are the Anne Geddes prints I will be using. Since the comforter has these three things on it (tulips, butterflies and bunnies) these prints, which I love, are PERFECT! And, they look so pretty together. I was originally going to hang them just like shown here, but on getting them, I have decided that I will hang the tulips and butterflies pretty much like they are shown here, but the bunnies will go on an adjoining wall. I never thought I would go so GIRLY!
