2nd Birthday

Before I get back to the party, here is a neat gift Maury got from Julienne, who couldn't make it to the party. It's this cube that pops up from a little tiny flat thing. He got another gift like this at his party that was a basketball game. Anyway, here are Maury and his daddy posing for me inside the cube a few days after his party.

Opening Presents

Here is Maury opening his gifts while enjoying one of them: the Tot Spot chair. Thanks, Martha, Joseph and Lindsey for that gift. We sure opened that one at the right time...early in the proceedings. Maury sat in the chair for the rest of the present opening

Maury and His Women

We had four toddlers other than Maury at his party this year. There was only one other boy there, as I mentioned, and he left early. That left Maury and his women! Here he is with Lauren, his cousin, and Lindsey and Mallory, our neighbors. What a lady killer!

A Sandbox

Back at home, after naptime, we had family over for the opening of their gifts. Nana and Papa gave Maury this cool sandbox. We got our backyard fenced in the following week (actually on his birthday) and will be setting up the sandbox in some pseudo shady corner of the yard soon.

Our Schroeder

Maury really seems to love music. So, we wanted to gently encourage this. What better gift, then, then a Maury-sized piano? Maury seems to like the piano a lot...but I think what he likes better is saying "cheese" whenever he knows his picture is being taken! What a ham!

First Boo Boo

Not an illustrious way to start your third year, but Maury got a boo boo on his toe the night before his birthday. Here he is on his birthday morning in bed pointing to his toe and saying "boo boo". He had the cutest little Sesame Street band aid on it. I worked late the night before and missed the application of this little doozy, as well as Steve putting him to bed with his Pooh slippers on to keep him from taking the band aid off. I found him the next a.m. with one of the slippers (and the band aid) still on.

Supper?

On his birthday night, we met Steve's dad at a BBQ restaurant for a quick dinner. Maury apparently didn't think we were moving fast enough, because he found this giant bag of potato chips in the kitchen, brought them in the living room to me, and said, "Supper". Too funny! As you can tell, Maury is getting more and more verbal and we are able to communicate with him so much better day by day!
