Halloween Bash On Father's Day, I gave Steve a Superman shirt and Maury a Superbaby outfit. I felt like it would only be appropriate to continue the Superman theme into Halloween this year. His costume came from the WB Store just like the Father's Day purchases did. The only bad thing...the adorable Superman sneakers I bought were too small for him! Oh, well! He's still pretty darn cute! |
Doll and Guy Steve's sister, Beth, joined in on the Halloween festivities this year. She decided to come as a flapper. Steve, as usual, was very secretive about what he was coming as. I thought it was really neat that he decided to come as a gangster with his sister...although he told us he was originally going to come as a flapper, too! Egads! |
Snow White and The Evil Queen One night in chat, Roxanne (brennajessiemom), mentioned that she was making a princess costume for her little girl and that she was going to go dressed as the wicked stepmother. That gave me this idea for my mom and I: Snow White and The Evil Queen. My mom is quite the ham, as you can tell from this picture. |
Neo and Trinity Here are the host and hostess with the mostest! Nikki and Cory came to the bash dressed as Neo and Trinity from The Matrix. I have to admit, I was wondering how they would pull that one off. But, WOW, they looked great! I asked them if they had mastered the slow motion jumping thing, but, I don't think they had. Cory was pretty good at the bullet dodging move, though! |
The King I guess I shouldn't have said that my mom is a real ham. Especially considering the way my dad made his entrance this year. After the party got started, he finally went inside to get changed into his costume...which only two or three people knew about. Then, the music suddenly changes from the party tape to Elvis music and The King appeared from the house, complete with flashing headlights (courtesy of Cory's truck) for effect. |
Dr. Frankenstein and "His" Monster This is my Aunt Cathy and Uncle David. It's too bad you can't see Cathy's coke bottle glasses that were the real topper to this outfit. The wig was pretty awesome, too. Dave looked great, too. By the end of the evening, the Frankenstein mask was gone and so was the jacket and shoulder pads. BUT, he was wearing Beth's feather boa, Nikki's sunglasses, a few scarves that The King had handed out, and, eventually, I hear, even some curlers from another costume. That was a real site. Scarier than Frankenstein, in fact! |
Another Bash is History Sunday morning it was time to all head out and start counting down to the next Halloween Bash. Maury and his Aunt Beth took some time for one last swing on the porch swing and then we all hit the road. |
Trick or Treating...What a Laugh! On Halloween, we took Maury to a few houses in our neighborhood and then we drove to Steve's hometown so that Nana and Papa could show him off to a few of our family friends. I am telling you this, I don't know why we had to switch from daylight savings time right BEFORE Halloween. Doesn't it seem like it would be safer to have more trick or treating time before dark? Doesn't it also seem like it would be better if the trick or treaters weren't wanting to be in bed at 6 p.m.? Here's the little guy being tickled by his daddy after we were done. |
