Halloween

Halloween was such fun this year! Maury didn't go around to very many houses to trick or treat, but he loved being on this side of the door giving out candy and waving to the kids who came by. One time, I got the door shut before he could get there and he was standing with a piece of his own candy in his hand, crying because he didn't get a chance to give it to the trick or treaters!

Tigger

Maury dressed as Tigger for Halloween. He was so cuddly in his costume. However, he wasn't in it long. He stripped out of it soon after we finished trick or treating and ran around for the longest time in his diaper, t-shirt and socks. I'm sure the people who came to the door thought that was odd. Actually, he looked like the picture at the bottom of the Trip to Cincy page exactly...same shirt, even.

Playing with Apple Jacks

In between rings of the doorbell, Maury played with his Halloween Cheerios book. We didn't have Cheerios, but Apple Jacks work. At first, he would get a couple pieces of cereal on the page where they belonged, but soon, he was just eating them without even pretending to put them on the book.

One, Two, One

Maury also enjoyed counting his candy. "One, two, three, two, one, two, one, eight, nine, TEN!"

Bob the Builder

At one point, a Maury sized Bob the Builder arrived at the door. Maury leapt out of the door and chased him as he was leaving, saying, "Bye, bye, Bob the Builder!" He caught up with the little cutie and gave him a hug!

Bye, Bye!

After eating dinner and announcing to his Nana and I that he was Superman, Maury was ready for bed. He started up the stairs to his room on his own, actually, and then called for me to "Come on, Mommy". As he got to the landing, he turned and shouted, "Bye, bye, Nana! Bye, bye, Papa! Bye, bye, Daddy! Bye, bye, Lizzie!" He was waving like he was Miss America as he did this. He was such a stitch that night. It was one of the top three parenting nights yet!

Cute story with no picture....On the Sunday after Halloween, Maury awoke and was playing in his room. We were exhausted, so while we were curious as to what he was up to, we didn't go in. Eventually, he opened the door and came out. I didn't even go in the room then, I just took him and went downstairs. I go up later to get clothes for him to wear after his bath and I see that he had gotten into the diaper rash creme. It was on the floor and particularly on the baby doll we got him right before Lizzie was born. Maury must have known what it was, even though he never had to have it applied much. So, I clean it up a bit and we go to get his bath. I was still working on getting a towel for him, etc. when I hear the water turn on in the bathroom. I look in just in time to see Maury pouring water into the baby's tub where he had placed the now naked baby doll! He was going to bathe her! He hasn't even seen me bathe Lizzie, but he knew what that tub was all about! Toooooo funny!
