Spring 2003

It was beautiful here in the south in March. One Saturday morning, I ventured out with the kids and Steve to the botanical gardens before I went in to work. I love cherry blossom time and I think Maury thought it was pretty nice, too!

The Natural

Maury shows some natural ability for hitting the baseball. Here he is hitting off the tee, but he can also do pretty well when his dad pitches to him. Note: I say his dad. When his mom throws to him, he usually gets clunked in the head.

The Artist as a Young Man

When I got back from Ohio from my grandmother's funeral, Steve had Maury's Magna-Doodle all ready for me to see. Maury drew this picture while I was gone and he wouldn't let him erase it until I got home to see it!

The Tricycle Rider

Another sign of Maury's improving coordination: he is able to ride his tricycle now. He gets a little distracted by the sidewalk and a LOT distracted by the bell, but he is doing great!

Palm Sunday

Maury has been a bit of a handful during the past several months (Terrible Three's are much more descriptive, believe me). BUT, on Palm Sunday he made us glow with pride as he got up in front of the church and sang, gleefully, three songs with the children's choir. He was the star of the show...and that is from third party, unrelated witnesses!

The Waterboy

On the afternoon of Palm Sunday, the church had an Easter egg hunt. After the hunt, which didn't last long (kids are very good at these things), there were snacks and egg painting on the front lawn. Maury shared his water with Lizzie...without pouring it on her. He really is sweet to her most of the time.

Maury and Daddy

Aren't my men handsome? Of course, the sheer agony it took to get pictures after church on Easter Sunday we won't go into. The energy level of a toddler after playing in the nursery is amazing. 'Nuff said.

Rabbit Face Maury

Good grief, this picture and the one of Lizzie cracks me up. Maury's great Aunt Marcy and Uncle Tom gave the kids these hysterical glasses. I had these up on their homepages for a while, but decided to retire them to the Easter section now that the season has passed.

I Don't Think That's Yours

Maury doesn't really care about gender roles right now when it comes to playing dress-up. This cute flower headband was a gift from Aunt Marcy...FOR LIZZIE! He also proceeded one morning to put on his Buzz Lightyear shirt, wings and hat, along with Lizzie's dress up ballerina skirt. He declared himself Cinderella Buzzlightyearhead. Goofy is more like it.

in memory of maury and lizzie's great grandma marion, who we are so very glad maury and lizzie got to know. we miss you, grandma.
