Swimming Lessons

In the middle of May, Maury took swimming lessons at the YMCA. He loved them! It looks like he will be a water baby just like his Aunt Nikki was. By the end of the two weeks of lessons, he was kicking his little legs to "swim" to whatever he saw in the water that he wanted. His instructor, Erin, said she had never seen a baby as young as Maury adapt to the water so well.

JUMP!

We didn't get any pictures of Maury jumping in to me on the one night that he really was lunging forward to "jump" in the pool. But, in this picture, you can get the idea as he lets his daddy pull him into the water.

Daddy Makes Me Laugh

The last night of swimming lessons, while we waited for the classes before us to wrap up, we all sat by the outdoor pool. Steve really got Maury tickled by gnawing on his little neck. I wish I had an audio clip to go with this picture because he was really cackling!

The Old Pro

Now, we try to take Maury to the pool at least a couple of times a week. He is so relaxed in the water and it is a welcome relief for me to be able to put him in his innertube and relax for about an hour. For this time, I don't have to chase after him to keep him out of trouble. This phase, too, shall pass, I know, but I'm enjoying it while it lasts!
