Maury's First Birthday Our little guy is a year old already. This picture shows you Maury on the morning of his birthday. This is very typical of what we see when we go into the nursery every morning...a smiling Maury! A lot of times, he is still laying in the crib and when he hears the door open, he POPS up and grins at us. On his birthday, he was already standing...ready for his big day. |
Cupcake Everywhere Maury got to have an early birthday cupcake while we were in Raleigh. Here's a preview of the big mess we will have on our hands the day of his birthday party. We actually had to put him in the kitchen sink and hose him down before we could go anywhere with him. He had crumbs in his diaper even! |
Baby Basketball To back up even further, before we left for vacation at the end of June, Maury's first birthday present arrived from his birthday buddy, Kyle. It was Baby Basketball! (We couldn't resist opening the present early.) The funny thing is, we sent Kyle Baby Baseball. Great minds think alike. Another note on Kyle and Maury: they both were 23 pounds (well, Maury has an extra ounce) and 31 inches at their one year check up...which they both had on July 13. |
Let's Get Outta Here, Daddy! This isn't a birthday picture, per se, but it is from the day after his real birthday. I took the day off of work to run numerous "birthday" errands with Maury. We had Patty Cakes done (hand and foot this time), we had portraits taken, and we went to the pediatrician for his one year well baby visit. Steve took Maury out of the ped's office while I paid for the visit and when I got to the car, this is what I found...Maury "driving". |
This Is Neat! So, the day of the party finally arrived and with it came BALLOONS! Maury was really thrilled with this new toy. He crawled around with this tightly grasped in his hand for quite a while. Of course, when I went to take a picture, he was in our foyer...which goes up for the full two stories...and he let go before I could snap a picture. Daddy had to do some real acrobatics on the bannister to get the balloon back down (the things we do for our kids). Thanks to Aunt Beth, though, we do have this cute balloon picture to share here. |
