Our Darling Son, Maury

Maury Robert was born on July 12, 1999 and has been a total joy from day one. He is such an easy baby and has totally charmed everyone he has met. Maury was named after Stephen's maternal grandfather (Maury) and my father (Robert).

Our Family

This is one of my favorite pictures of the three of us. This was taken at Stephen's parent's house in late October 1999. We were about to leave Maury with his Nana and Papa for the first time so that Stephen and I could go out and see a movie. Boy, is it hard to choose a movie to go see when you have to leave a cutie like this one behind in order to do it. You sure don't take any chances because you would hate to leave him to see some horrible movie. We played it real safe and checked out The Sixth Sense.

First Easter

This is Maury on his first Easter Sunday. At 9+ months old, it is virtually impossible for Maury to sit still in church anymore, so I ended up going down to the church nursery with him for most of the service. The nursery was so busy that day that I decided to stay with him so that the workers weren't totally overwhelmed. As you can see, I'm the type of mother who loves baby feet, so we didn't bother with shoes, even on Easter!

Easter Basket Number 3

As you can imagine, Maury got MANY Easter baskets on his first Easter. Mommy and Daddy gave him a simple basket with a monogrammed bunny. Nana and Papa gave Maury a basket with some clothes and a bean bag bunny. This basket is from his Grandma and Grandpa and was his third out of four baskets. His Great Grandma Marion gave him his last basket with a couple of stuffed animals.
