Kiddie Carnival In late July, we finally got to make a trip to see my sister and brother-in-law. Nikki and Cory only live about 2 hours from us, but with both of us being tax accountants, even though we are out of busy season, we've still been packed with things to do. Nikki sent us an invitation to come visit and enjoy a series of "birthday" events for Maury including getting "drive by" kisses from Haley, their yellow lab, who can't resist licking Maury whenever she walks by him. This is Nikki and Cory with Maury on the Friday night we arrived...Maury's all in his p.j.'s lookin' cute. |
Uncle Cory Here's Uncle Cory reading Maury a bedtime story, "Pat the Bunny". Maury likes to be read to anytime, but bedtime is really the best time to try. He won't try to grab and eat the book quite as much when he is sleepy! |
Mixed Reviews for the Rides On Saturday morning, we got up and got in a kiddie pool with Maury in my sis's back yard. My sis, I will call her "Martha Stewart" for this section, had a kiddie pool that she used as a beer cooler at a wedding party she had at her house (luau theme). She's pretty nifty that way. Then, that night, we went to the Lion's Club Kiddie Carnival which was right up the street from their house. Maury's review of the carnival was mixed: he seemed to like the swings OK, the train was horrible, and the cars (shown here) he warmed up to eventually. |
Sno Cone At the Kiddie Carnival, Steve couldn't resist a grape Sno Cone. And, of course, Maury wanted to have a taste for himself. Daddy let him try a couple of sips. That was fine until he managed to dribble grape juice down his new shirt. Mommy ended the tasting immediately after that! |
Sydnee...Maury's Pseudo Cousin My brother-in-law's uncle and aunt, David and LeAnna, have a little girl, Sydnee, who is just about the same age as Maury (give or take just a couple of weeks). And, Sydnee just got a brand new baby brother, Sam, on Maury's birthday. SOOOOO, to give LeAnna a bit of a break, David and Sydnee came to the Kiddie Carnival with us. Sydnee was an old pro at the carnival and she loved all the rides. When she rode the cars, she was waving at everyone! Back at my sister's house, Maury got his chance to make a move on Sydnee. He went right up to her, as you can see, and grabbed her! |
