Labor Day

Maury had a special visitor during the first part of Labor Day weekend...his Aunt Nikki. Maury has started climbing up on the footstool in our living room since it is one of the few things he can successfully climb up on now (he is all torso...and short legs). When he first did this in front of my sister, she took the footstool and spun it back and forth. Well, he loved that. The rest of her visit, he would climb up and bounce up and down as if to say, "Do it again, Aunt Nikki, do it again".

The New Toy, A Spoon

This is from the week before Labor Day, but I had to let everyone see what a big boy Maury is getting to be. He is completely eating table food now, but doing so with his fingers. We are now letting him try a spoon out. If you load it up with food, he knows what to do...shove it in his mouth. This is Maury trying his hand with some yogurt. Oh, and I have to brag about this, too: Maury is totally off the bottle and now will even go to bed without a cup. YEAH!

You Build, I'll Destroy

Maury likes to play with Legos, but not in the typical way. He only likes to tear down what someone else builds. Basically, he is kind of this way with most toys. For instance, if you play with something, he is likely to come take it from you. Then, you pick up something else, and he'll drop what he just took so he can come get the new thing you picked up. Must make for fun at daycare...but I think most toddlers his age are that way. Here is his Aunt Nikki "playing" Legos with him.

Cool Shades

On Labor Day, we went to spend the day with Steve's parents and went to the park for some Labor Day festivities. Maury really liked his Nana's big sunglasses. She would put them on, and he would take them right off of her, like he always does with glasses or sunglasses. So, she finally just let him give them a try. Yes, he took them right off of himself, but I caught this cute pic before he could.

What Are These Things?

I thought the park would be a great place to play with some bubbles. Maury really didn't notice them at first, but when he did start to notice, he was really funny. He would squint his eyes whenever they got close to his face like he knew the soap would sting if it got in his eyes. It was so windy on Labor Day, our bubbles never stayed in Maury's area long, but it was fun anyway.

Where'd You Go?

After some time at the park, we had to escape back to the cool air at Nana and Papa's house. Maury's face was pretty red from the heat, so we just stripped him down and let him run around in his diaper. Next thing we know, he is doing this...standing on his head and looking between his legs. He is such a happy go lucky baby...and we are very lucky parents!
