Christmas 2001 We finally made it to the holidays...the fun part, not the preparations that drag out for too long. Here we are, the new family of four, on Christmas Eve at Steve's parents' house. |
The Name Train Maury had a big train Christmas. In his stocking from his Nana and Papa, he got this cute set of train cars that spell his name. Now, don't they look nice, in all different colors? Wink, Barbara...I totally agree...they look much better when each letter is a different color and I appreciate the pains (and Cracker Barrels) you went to to get them this way! |
The Train Table Maury's big gift from his Nana and Papa this year was this awesome train table that came with ALL this stuff. Papa and aAunt Beth spent a great deal of time getting it all set up for him. There was a major derailment soon after he started playing with it. |
![]() CLAYton! On Christmas Eve evening, we went to church like we always do. This year it was just comical to watch all the parents of toddlers go sit in the church near the door that leads to the nursery. It was like we all really wanted to keep them in church, but we knew it wasn't going to happen. As it turns out, there wasn't even a nursery worker scheduled, but eventually two ladies in the church went down and took a bunch of kids with them. Those that didn't go right then...went soon after. Here is Maury playing with "CLAYton!" (that is what he yelled when Clayton came into church that night) in the nursery. |
Twas the Night? On Maury's first Christmas Eve, we were at my parents' house and my dad read him Twas the Night Before Christmas just as he always had read it to me and my sister. This year, we didn't see my parents until Christmas and he read the story to them both. I had to be pretty quick to get a picture with Maury still in it, though. There was too much else he wanted to do and left shortly after "sprang open the sash". |
![]() Oh, YES! Maury was sitting with me and he had just started to open a present. My mom was still distributing gifts around the room and she brought this large box to Maury. She said, "Look, Maury, a BIG one!" He looked up, put the smaller gift he was opening aside and said, "Oh, YES!" and tore right in. It is the biggest box of vehicles you have ever seen! |
Busy Box Maury's last gift was from us (actually Steve found this one without any input from me). If you look in the picture of Maury in the church nursery, you can see that he loves those bead toys. Now, he and Lizzie have one of their own. I will just call it a busy box, because it has lots to do! He just loves it! |
