Good Luck Jersey This is a tale of a kid, a Bo Jackson jersey and his daddy's superstious nature. (OK, I believe it, too.) Maury is shown in this picture with his grandma and his sister in the jersey in question, which has taken on a whole life of it's own over this football season. |
The Jersey That Must Be Worn It's like this. Maury's dad dressed him in his Auburn jersey before the first game of the season. Maury wore the jersey to Auburn when he went to that game with his dad. He has worn it during every game since then EXCEPT when he went to bed during the Syracuse game and I foolishly changed him into his PJ's. We lost. Bad. Now, Maury sleeps in his jersey if the game is still on. |
BEAT Florida The superstition has gotten worse. During our wonderful victory over Florida, Maury had fought going to bed, so he was not only still dressed when we started to get near the end of the game, he was still UP. Daddy told us, via Nextel, that Maury was to stay up. He almost made it...zonked out at the very end. |
![]() My Tiger The next week, we played Louisiana Tech and Maury wasn't wearing his jersey. EGADS! As we were driving home from the punkin patch trip, we had to pull over and get that jersey on him as we had less than a minute in regulation and were tied! We won in overtime. Phew! So, that is the story of how our Maury, and his wardrobe, is responsible for our football season. Too bad...he looks really cute in other tiger stuff I have for him. |
