2nd Birthday

This year, we decided to have Maury's birthday party the weekend before his big day. We had a patriotic theme since it was so close to the Fourth of July and we had the party at the playground you may have seen pictures from on an earlier page. Here is our happy boy before we went out into the heat for his party. And, believe it or not, I actually made that shirt for him, as well as one for me and for Steve!

July 4th

As I often do, let me back up a few days just to show you a family picture we took on the Fourth of July this year. We went to the same place we did last year and had a BBQ picnic with Steve's parents. The weather was actually quite comfortable with a nice breeze and everything. I wish we could say that about his party day, but that is another story...

Boys Will Be Boys

Here is Maury and the only other male tot that was at the party (other than baby Clay). Clayton is the son of family friends. You'll see later that there were lots of women at the party and only two boys to go around!

This Is FUN!

Maury was quite the daredevil on the playground. Look at him swinging on a bar above one of the slides. That's cutie pie Lindsey in the background.

See Saw

Here is Maury with his Aunt Beth and then Lindsey with my mom on the see saw on the playground. Maury loves to say "see saw". Of course, "see saw" means this as well as rocking in a rocking chair.

Blow These Out Quick

Even though it was blistering hot on the morning of his party, there was lots of wind blowing. I thought we would never get the candles on his cupcake lit to stay. But, as you can see, we did.

WHO Made This?

Can you believe I made this cake? It was really easy and it hit the spot on such a hot day. Thanks, Liz (wesley3), for showing me the recipe on Kraft's site!
