Big Boy Bed

On June 1st, we FINALLY made the move to Maury's new room and his big boy bed. We had put it off for silly reasons for too long and the move needed to be made. Here he is on his BIG double bed. I didn't see any reason to get a toddler bed when we had a bed in the guest room (now Maury's room) already.

Let Me See That

I moved Maury's ABC books into his new room and they are just out of his reach on his dresser. That is fine by me for now. His mommy is a little anal and gets tired of realphabetizing all the time when he has easy access to the books.

"So, Here's What I'm Up To"

We had gotten a lot done in Maury's room before the pizza arrived, so we took a break for dinner. While we ate, Maury talked on the phone for the first time in a real way. He held the phone and actually talked back to his Nana (not sassed, just talked). Of course, when he is ready to get off the phone, he pulls it away from his ear, and THEN says "bye" as he tries to put the antenna down. Too funny.

Tigger Comes With Me

After dinner, we went back up to finish getting his room ready. As I was moving things from the nursery, Maury caught on to what was up pretty fast. I suddenly see him dragging his Soft Rockin' Tigger behind him to his new room. It was kind of like, "Well, SHE is not getting this!"

Video Time

We were finally ready to see how bedtime would go. We have a TV with a built in VCR in his room, so we put in his bedtime video in there instead of in the living room. He watched intently and then we just gave him his paci and left him in the room. I would like to say he went off to sleep like an angel, but...

Um, Close, But Not Quite

Maury cried for about 15 minutes after we left the room. This is not unusual for him, so we decided we needed to let it go unless we heard him up and about. We didn't hear him, but about 30 minutes after it got quiet, Steve went to check on him and calls down to me to bring the camera up. Here is where Maury had given up and fallen asleep...on his beanbag! Steve moved him and he slept through until morning just fine.

The Morning After

And, here is my wild-haired guy on the first morning after sleeping all night in his new bed! We are so proud of him and wondering why we waited so long. He was clearly fine with this move!

My Men

We haven't looked back since. Maury has napped and slept in his big bed ever since June 1st. We kind of like his new room, too. Here are ALL my men, Izzy, Stephen and Maury, lazing around on the bed watching TV. I'm a lucky woman.
