At the Park

On Memorial Day weekend, Martha (my neighbor) and I finally made it to the municipal park with the kids, Lindsey and Maury (and Joseph...but more on that later). This park was wonderful and I was so excited with it! This is where we will have Maury's birthday party.

Let me back up just a little bit for just a second. On the Friday before Memorial Day, Steve's mom (a.k.a. Nana) retired after 26 years of teaching elementary school. We are all so proud of her. Either she was truly one of the best teachers ever or everyone was involved in a huge conspiracy to make it sound that way! LOL! Here is Maury wearing Nana's crown, which she proudly wore for the last couple of weeks of school...and at her retirement breakfast. We love you, Mom!

Back to the park...Here are Maury and Lindsey on the tireswing. They had a lot of fun on this one. And, Martha and I had our hands full after they got off trying to make sure they didn't fall down! They were so dizzy it was just hysterical!

Going Back for More

After we ate lunch, I thought I would head home with Maury for naptime, but he had other ideas. He and Joseph, Martha's husband who showed up while we were eating, headed right back to the playground. It was so funny watching Joseph and Martha climbing all over the place and helping the kids slide down all the big slides. Don't think Joseph didn't slide either...he did...

The Big Slide

This was Maury's favorite slide...a tall, fully enclosed tube of a slide. He went down this one many, many times. Thanks, Joseph and Martha for playing with Maury so much. Big ol' Mommy just wouldn't have made it up that playground equipment very well!
